"Let's go fly a kite!
Up to the highest height!
Let's go fly a kite,
and send it soaring...."

I have to stop there, 'cos another line and I'll end up being charged for royalties. :giggle:

A pretty cutesy commission I paid :iconarabatos: ~arabatos to draw for me, of my anime forms of Lisa and Maggie Simpson (see my scraps for character sheet images of them both), out flying a kite on Springfield one fine early summer afternoon.

I chose to make Maggie older so that Lisa could have a playmate, someone who saw the world through a similar set of eyes to herself and wouldn't mock Lisa's sources of pleasure. So there are similarities between Lisa and Maggie, not only in looks but also a bit in personalities (though that's difficult to convey in a still pic). But they certainly look similar, with Maggie (I place her at being about 6 or 7yo) dressing like her fave big sis, styling her hair the same, the same style shoes, even the pearls...except Maggie wears them as an anklet instead, for a small bit of variation. :D And of course, a similar hair colour, though Maggie's is just a shade more red.

I like to think that, any moment now, Maggie's gonna lower her hands and start playfully rib-tickling Lisa until she almost lets go of the kite. She just looks like the kind of playfully mischevious girl who might, y'know? ;)

Lisa, Maggie, and the Simpsons are © 20C Fox, Matt Groening.
These more human-ish designs of them are © nzz1@deviantart.com and :iconbbmbbf:/Palcomix.

those shoes look really easy to take off. I'm trying to hold back.

They ARE really easy to slip off, they're backless Mary Janes, kind-of along the lines of Crocs. (but more comfy and less tacky-looking). :)

I'm trying to resist the urge. I'd ask if I could take them off but I'd seem even weirder than I already am.

That's okay, I imagine they're pretty use to harmless weirdness, they live with Bart and Homer. :P

But neither of them have a foot fetish

You have proof to back up that statement? ;)

whenever someone was barefoot on the show, they didn't even pass a glance at the feet.

I prefer to imagine that Lisa is just veeery subtle about sneaking glances at the boys' and girls' feet on the show. ;) And she always wears those red plastic sandals, even during their fairly bitter winters...

Hey, I might actually watch the Simpsons, if the people there actually looked this realistic. ...I really get tired of those yellow blobs.

Heh heh, yeah. Yellow blobs is quite true...I don't know about the skin colour, but the ridiculously unrealistic hairstyles were never meant to actually be used in the show, they were just some quick sloppy work to show to the studio execs. Maybe Groening thought an unrealistic skintone would sit better with equally unrealistic hair? :)
