Prettier when she's awake by Yet-One-More-Idiot Prettier when she's awake by Yet-One-More-Idiot
Art commission from the awesomesauce :iconshadowoflight01: =shadowoflight01. ^^

She might be better known as Sleeping Beauty, but I think that Aurora is even more beautiful when she isn't in a magical slumber. =^^=

Onoes, she just pricked her finger on the spinning wheel!!!!!1 :noes:

This depiction of Aurora is Disney (but the story "Sleeping Beauty" is public domain of course). Art by Xen-chan. =shadowoflight01

She'd be prettier if she was smiling.

Well yes she would be, but she's just realised that she's about to fall under a 100-year-long sleeping curse. That would ruin anybody's mood a little, I think. xD

Aw, not that much; it's just a tiny prick.... she'll be okay once Prince Charming comes to wake her up with a kiss. ;)

Wasn't she barefoot during the entire movie?

Was Sleeping Beauty barefoot in the Disney movie?...I don't honestly recall. Hmm...

Ouch! Funny, I've never watched the entire Disney movie, but would like to at some point.
Heh, she does bear a stricking resemblance to my own Aurore. I guess I just never noticed it before!

Someday, when I have loads of time and money (and assuming they continue to rotate all of their films out of the vault every now and then), I'd love to get the entire collection of the Disney Animated Canon. :D

Hmm, she does bear rather a resemblance, intriguing...maybe there's a story there? :P

I don't think I've ever seen the Disney version of this either, as a matter of fact. Yeah, her eyes are watering a little because of the pain in her fingertip.

Tomorrow: Cinderella!

Totally agree. Though it was funny to watch the movie as a kid and have the growing tension of her touching the spinning wheel, and then going back to watching it with friends as a teenager and wonder "Why is she even following the green orb? Isn't that like the lesson 'Not to follow strangers?'"

But yeah, much better when she was awake. ^-^

Yeah, the whole thing of her going over to the wheel and pricking her finger does seem a little silly when you're grown-up, and know that she was made well aware what would happen if she ever pricked her finger.
Then again, no doubt the evil fairy-godmother hexed Aurora so that she would feel an irresistible compulsion to use the wheel and jab her finger. That would make a lot more sense than her doing it of her own free will. ^^

True. The orb did, in a sense, hypnotize her. And if she didn't prick her finger, that would defeat the whole purpose of at least one of the main canons of the story: prince charming saves the day!

Regardless, it's a wonderful picture. Brilliant artwork! Her expression is cute too. :)

That's very true. Characters often do dumb stuff simple for no other reason than to enable the plot. A more genre-savvy character would ruin the story. :P

Aurora's expression = :iconnoesplz:
