I love the story of Peter Pan for so many reasons, and this picture shows one of the main reasons - twice! They look just sooooo cute, all snuggled up together on the beach, don't they? D'aww!
I have no doubt that most people who've ever seen a Disney film will be able to recognise that the girl on the left is Wendy Darling, from the 1953 classic Disney film of Peter Pan.
On the right, however, she is cuddling up with....Wendy Darling. This is the way that Wendy was depicted in the 1990 series made by FOX, called "Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates". It was a really great show, with excellent portrayals of all the characters, and it made all the pirates much more three dimensional (where most other versions only use Hook and Smee, and the rest are just so many faceless goons), and could arguably be one of the better adaptations of Barrie's original works.
If you like Peter Pan at all, go search out eps of Peter Pan and the Pirates on Youtube or something, I guarantee that you'll love it!*
Well, I don't actually do the drawing, but yeah, I did pick the pose for the girls in the pic. Sorry, bare feet were more an added bonus to the pic than the main feet-ure.
Hmm, really? You might be right, the pink dress kinda does make Fox's Wendy look girlier, but on the whole I'd say Disney's Wendy is the one who behaves more girly. She's attracted to Peter more, and is openly jealous of Tinkerbell and Tiger Lily, while in the Fox cartoon, Wendy is a little (very little) bit more of a tomboy, joining in with adventures as much as anyone else.
ya your so right but i was looking on to more on how the were designed. also if they wanted Wendy to be more tomboy or girly the should at lease make them look that way I mean pink dress and a flower band for a more tomboy Wendy doesn't make sense to me
To each their own though.
